The Human Resources Committee is meeting 12/13/2023 at 4:30PM.
They have three action items on the agenda.
One of them is the request to add a Community Resource Navigator that will also be taken up by the Board of Health.
Another is the addition of a Silica Safety Policy. The purpose of such a policy is “ensuring every reasonable precaution is taken to protect our employees (and others) from the adverse health effects associated with exposure to respirable crystalline silica,” and to meet OSHA requirements related to crystalline silica industry standards. It appears that the city does not currently have a Silica Safety Policy.
The committee will also be voting on a request to over hire the Real Estate Property Lister position. The person currently occupying that position is retiring 01/26/2024 and is the only person within the city who performs that work. Staff would like to overhire that position for the month of January to allow the person taking over to be adequately prepared.
The committee will also receive a number of information items including updates and changes to three different policies as well as the most recent recruitment status report.
