Board Of Health Meeting 12/13/2023 – Will Vote On Creating Full Time Community Resource Navigator Position To Help Homeless Individuals Connect With Resources

The Board of Health is meeting 12/13/2023 at 7AM.

They have one action item on the agenda which is a request to add a full time Community Resource Navigator to the Health Department’s Table of Organization. This position would help homeless individuals who are not engaging in criminal activities obtain services such as securing shelter and acquiring basic necessities. The position would be funded annually through Community Development Block Grant dollars.

The board will also be receiving several information items including a dangerous animal declaration and respiratory virus reporting.

A black, male Rottweiler/Mix dog named Bear was declared a dangerous animal after, unprovoked, it attacked another dog resulting in injuries that required 23 staples to close.

The current concentration of Covid levels at the city’s wastewater treatment plant are considered “very high”. [Not sure if anybody even cares about this anymore.]
