The Community and Economic Development Committee is meeting 03/10/2021 at 4:30 pm.
They’ll be revising the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding. It looks like they have $610,000 in funds they’re handing out.
There’s a request to approve a mixed use development agreement on College Avenue.
A request to approve $15,000 in sponsorships for Appleton Downtown Inc. This goes toward things like the recent ice sculptures, the farmers market, and small business Saturday.
There’s also a “request to approve the City of Appleton maintain its current selling prices for business/industrial park land and hold option fees”.
Finally, there’s the 2020 Growth report for the city of Appleton. They seem to be dissatisfied with Appleton’s rate of growth. We had a lower percentage of new construction than surrounding communities. Over the last 8 years, “Appleton’s percentage of total Fox Cities’ equalized value has been decreasing.”
Our average unemployment rate was 6.1% last year due to a spike up to 14.5% because of the pandemic response.
