The Transit Commission is meeting on 02/23/2021 at 3pm.
They’ll be approving January payments and also voting on a request by Valley Transit to purchase a centralized data management system and enter into a 5 year contract with TransTrack Systems. The first year cost would be $138,705, and existing federal grants would cover 80% of the costs. This item already came before the Finance Committee.
Ridership is still down markedly compared to the last two years. Next month we’re coming up on the 1 year anniversary of the beginning of the pandemic. It will be interesting to see how 2021 numbers compare to 2020 numbers in March onward.
Valley Transit received a thank you for their help responding to the Fox River Mall shooting.
There will also be a Covid update and some information regarding transportation to vaccine clinics.
