The Safety and Licensing Committee is meeting 02/14/2024 at 5:30PM
They will be voting on a number of license applications and renewals as well as voting on proposed modifications to the city’s Special Event Policy. The updates include changes to street closure rules, food service, facility reservations, and parameters for parades.
Additionally, a representative of McGuinness Irish Pub will be appearing to discuss their recent demerit point violation. The establishment recently received 50 demerit points after being convicted of being open after hours/failing to vacate as a result of an incident that happened on 06/03/2023.
Finally, as an information item, the committee will be reviewing the request from the Police Department to create a Lead Forensic Evidence Specialist position. This item is also coming before the Human Resources and Information Technology Committee as an action item.
