The Fox Cities Transit Commission is meeting 12/12/2023 at 2:50PM.
The agenda includes requests to approve five different intermunicipal agreements for various transit related services.
The commission will also vote on a request to certify Valley Transit’s Public Transportation agency Safety Plan and approve a 2024-2025 grant agreement between Valley Transit and Lutheran Social Services to administer the federal Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program.
Finally, as information items, the commission will receive the October 2023 financial and ridership reports. Ridership numbers simply don’t seem to be bouncing back to pre-Covid numbers. Back in October of 2019, Valley Transit saw 90,105 riders which was similar to the 96,000 in 2018 and 85,000 in 2017.
In 2023, those numbers are down to 60,211, a decrease of approximately 30,000. Additionally, that number is unchanged from 2022, so rider does not seem to be increasing year over year.
