The Fox Cities Transit Commission is meeting 06/27/2023 at 2:50PM.
They have three action items on the agenda.
The first is the routine request to approve payments for the month of May.
The second is a request for approval to purchase replacement bus shelters. Per the memo to the committee, “Several bus shelters have exceeded their useful life and need replacement.” Valley Transit would like to spend $68,250 to purchase 6 shelters that include an optional solar lighting package. The memo seems to indicate that this purchase will be covered by a combination of grants and budgeted dollars but does not break out what percentage will be covered by each.
The commission will also be voting on a request for Valley Transit to extend by a year their contract with Star Protection and Patrol for security services at the downtown transit center. STAR is requesting a rate increase to $25 an hour.
Finally, as information items, the commission will be receiving the month financial report and the monthly ridership report for the month of May.
