The Finance Committee is meeting 03/20/2023 at 5:30PM.
The agenda includes requests to award the Unit D-23 Sidewalk Construction contract for $293,000 and the Unit E-23 Miscellaneous Concrete and Street Excavation Repairs contract for $473,850.
It also includes a request to reject all bids for the Unit X-23 Water Main Reconstruction contract. The city had budgeted $1,146,300 for the work but the lowest bid was $400,000 more expensive. City staff plans to revise the scope of the project by putting off the planned water main reconstruction on Linwood avenue to a future year. They will solicit new bids for the pared down contract in future weeks. This issue with having to reduce the scope of the projects covered by the contract in order to have the contract meet the budget is in keeping with a couple other recent infrastructure projects.
The committee will also be voting on a number of budget amendments. Of note, it looks like the city received a bioterrorism grant in 2022 turned out to be $18,000 more than the city expected.
