The Municipal Services Committee is meeting 01/23/2023 at 4:30PM.
They will be voting on several street occupancy permits including one for Avenue of Ice on the weekend of February 17, 2023.
I would expect that the more interesting part of the meeting will be the College Avenue Lane Reconfiguration Presentation. Per the memo to the committee, staff has created a lane reconfiguration between State Street and Drew Street which will add a bike lane in each direction. The memo claims that there will still be “two lanes in each direction” along with center turn lanes at each intersection and that parking will remain unchanged.
[I’m having a hard time picturing how they could keep the road as a four lane road (“two lanes in each direction”) with parking on either side and also find room for two bike lanes. But it looks like we’ll have to wait until Monday to find out.]
