Alderpersons Hartzheim, Croatt, And Doran Introduce Resolution To Eliminate Council Parking Pass Benefit

The Common Council met 12/07/2022. During that meeting, Resolution 12-R-22 Eliminate Council Parking Passes was submitted. It was sponsored by Alderpersons Sheri Hartzheim (District 12), Chris Croatt (District 14), and Chad Doran (District 15). If passed as written, it would eliminate the parking pass benefit for alderpersons and take the $7,200 budgeted for this benefit and reallocate it to the Department of Public Works’ concrete budget.

Alderperson Doran has at various times made motions to eliminate or reduce the parking pass benefit and reallocate those funds for other things, most recently during the 11/09/2022 Common Council meeting. All of those attempts have been voted down, but as was noted during the 11/08/2022 Council meeting half the current Council members are not even using the benefit and have turned in their passes.

The resolution has been referred to the Finance Committee which will take it up at their 12/12/2022 meeting.
