The Fox Cities Transit Commission is meeting 10/12/2021 at 3PM.
Outside of the monthly approval of payments, the commission will also be voting on awarding the Outagamie County rural service contract to Running Inc as well as approving a change in the Agency Ticket rate to $15 effective January 1, 2022. This would either an increase of $5 or a decrease of $5.25 depending on the situation.

There are also a number of information items including the regular monthly financial report and ridership and revenue report. As has been the case for the last few months, monthly ridership is up slightly compared to last year but overall year-to-date ridership is still down compared to last year. [This report is for the month of August, so we’ll have to wait until next month to see if the start of the school year has an effect on the numbers.]
They will also be reviewing Valley Transit’s 2022 budget.
Some of Valley Transit’s major objectives include attempting to regain the ridership they lost during 2020, complete a facility-wide renovation of their Whitman Avenue Facility, and work on establishing local funding options and alternative/sustainable sources of funding for both fixed route and paratransit services. [It’s really hard to see how that final one is possible given just how much the state and federal government subsidizes the transit system. Over 90% of their proposed 2022 revenue budget is Federal Grants and Miscellaneous State Aids.]
