Community And Economic Development Committee Approved Request To Waive The City’s Repurchase Rights For Lot In Northeast Business Park

The title of the Shortest Committee Meeting of this last week goes to the Community and Economic Development Committee meeting on 09/22/2021. The entire video was only 2 minutes 9 seconds long and the meeting itself even shorter.

They had one action item on the agenda: Request to waive repurchase rights for Lot 4, Plat 1, in the Northeast Business Park, allowing the transfer from Chad Cassiani to Delanie D. McGlone or assigns; this waiver is not transferable, survivable, or assignable and the City’s repurchase rights would remain on the property.

A staff member explained that the city has the right to repurchase lots in its industrial parks. Chad Cassiani, the current owner of Lot 4 in the Northeast Business Park, contacted the city and informed them that he had an accepted offer on the lot from the neighboring property owner who was looking to either expand their building or build another office building. They were seeking the city’s waiver of repurchase rights in order to go through with the property transfer.

None of the committee members had any comments or questions, and committee Chair Matt Reed (District 8 ) said it seemed pretty straightforward.

The committee approved the request to waive the repurchase rights unanimously and seemed pretty pleased that they got the meeting done in only 2 minutes. [I can agree it’s always nice when a meeting is short and sweet and doesn’t drag out needlessly.]
