Finance Committee Scheduled For 05/10/2021

The Finance Committee is scheduled to meet 05/10/2021 at 5:30 pm.

They have 6 action items on the agenda and no information items.

1. Award the Engineering Contract for the 2021 Pierce Park Pavement Renovation Project to the Rettler Corporation

Rettler was the lowest bidder. Total project cost is not to exceed $43,560.

2. Request to reallocate $20,790 positive bid variance from the Coop Road Asphalt Resurfacing Project to the asphalt paving of a widened shoulder along CTH E (Apple Creek Road) in the 2021 Asphalt Capital Paving Program (4240).

The city only recently received word from Outagamie County, which is resurfacing the road, that it would be possible to widen the shoulders to make room for bikes. Obviously, the city would have preferred to know last year so they could have budgeted for it, but, regardless, they don’t want to miss this opportunity.

3. Request to rescind the 2019-2020 Personal property tax bills for Wisconsin Registered Agent LLC totaling $109.72.

The office furniture they were assessed for was owned by a different company that already paid the tax on it.

4. Request to approve Land Dedication Agreement for Lightning Drive and Stormwater Pond with Apple Tree Appleton Four LLC.

This sets out what duties and services the City of Appleton is required to provide for this area and what duties and responsibilities Apple Tree Appleton Four, LLC has for this area.

5. Request to award Change Order 2 for the Phase I Lake Station Construction Contract to Miron Construction Company in an amount $14,038.43 decreasing project contingency from $187,485.35 to $173,446.92.

It’s always nice to see costs go down.

6. Request to award the City of Appleton’s “Municipal Services Building Solar Installation Project” contract to Current Electric

The city plans to put solar panels on the roof of the Municipal Services Building.

It’s projected to result in savings of $1 million over the next 30 years. They anticipate that, once installed, the solar array will cover 51% of the electricity needs for the facility.
