The Board of Education is meeting this evening 02/08/2021 at 6pm.
The item of most interest on the agenda is the filling of the Board vacancy. They will, however, be covering other items as well.
They’ll be voting on the 4k calendar for the 2021-2022 school year. Staff is recommending holding staff development for 1 full day instead of 2 half days, so as not to inequitably impact only one cohort of students. The morning and afternoon 4k sessions will also be the same length of time.
They will also be discussion renaming Lincoln Elementary school “Ronald C. Dunlap Elementary School, Home of the Lincoln Lions” as a way of honoring Ronald Dunlap. This is an information/discussion item only. [On the one hand, Ronald Dunlap was the long time principal of Lincoln Elementary so it makes sense to rename it to honor him, but, on the other hand, of all the Presidents to remove from a school, Abraham Lincoln seems like the last.]
They’ll also be voting on giving Superintendent Baseman a raise of nearly $5,000.
