Board Of Education Meeting 10/25/2021 – Will Vote On 2021-22 Budget

The Appleton Area School District Board of Education is meeting 10/25/2021 at 6PM.

Perhaps the item of most interest they will be voting on is the adoption of the 2021-2022 budget.

  • The budget has increased by $9.7 million as compared to the budget from last year.
  • The overall revenue increase is due to various Covid related federal dollars.
  • Expenditures have increased in private school vouchers, overall staffing, and employee compensation and benefits. The amount of money spent on private school vouchers increased by $756,165 from last year to this year. The number of students leaving AASD and utilizing private school vouchers is certainly something to keep an eye on over the next few years.

The Board will also be voting on High School Level 3 Art Courses. The classes offered include a Drawing and Painting class, a Jewelry and Art Metals class, a Craft Design class, and a Ceramics and Sculpture class.

The consent agenda also includes approval of some grants as well as the standard educator hires, contract changes, retirements, and resignations.
