Appleton Common Council Agenda For 10/21/2020

The Common Council is meeting 10/21 at 7pm. The agenda is 8 pages long; you can download it here:

There will be the ever ubiquitous Covid update. The city’s burden is now up to 1,121. I’d also like to draw attention to the fact that the chart which shows the weekly average of cases clearly shows the spike in cases starting at least the week of 8/31 if not the week prior, well before Labor Day. I still don’t understand why people in city government keep talking about the “post Labor Day” increase in cases.

Also on the agenda is the resolution to cancel Trick or Treating. The Safety and Licensing committee recommended denying that resolution.

Another item of interest is the request by Malcore Foods for a Special Use Permit for the manufacturing of dairy products at 300 E. Coolidge Avenue. This is right across the street from Arthur Bay, another cheese manufacturer, so you’d think it wouldn’t be a big deal, but 28 nearby residents are opposed to this and have signed a petition lodging their opposition. The City Plan Commission, however, has recommended the permit be approved.

They’ll also be voting on whether or not to increase the wastewater service rates for Appleton property owners. Any bets on how they’ll vote?

As I said, the full agenda is 8 pages long. You can check it all out here:
