Community Development Committee Meeting 06/12/2024 – Will Vote On Final Community Development Block Grant Allocations, Request For Waiver To Southpoint Commerce Park Covenants

The Community Development Committee is meeting 06/12/2024 at 4:30PM.

They will be voting on a request to approve the 2023 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report for the Community Development Block Grant Program.

They will also be voting on a request to approve revised Community Development Block Grant allocations for the 2024-2025 plan year. The committee already approved preliminary allocations back in January based on an estimate of how much money the city would receive to distribute as grants but needs to approve the final allocations now that the full amount of the community development block grant dollars the city will be receiving from the federal government is known. The city received $13,604 more than it estimated. Staff is recommending to use the extra dollars to increase the amount of money given to Habitat for Humanity, Rebuilding Together Fox Valley, and Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC). Additionally, they recommend directing $2,025 of it toward the city’s Community Resource Navigator position.

They will also be voting on a request to approve a waiver to the covenants and restrictions of Southpoint Commerce Park to allow the owner of the lot at 3351 S Eisenhower Drive to construct a building addition that will result in lot coverage of 72.2% which is the maximum 70% allowed within the commerce park. Staff is recommending the waiver be approved.
