Finance Committee Meeting 04/07/2025 – Will Vote On Use Of 2024 Budget Carryover Funds To Hire Climate Action Consultant And Install Signage In City Center

The Finance Committee is meeting 04/07/2025.

They will be taking up the 2024-2025 budget carryover requests of $127,631 associated with 2024 Facilities Capital Projects. City staff wants to take $107,625 of funds left over from the 2024 Park Pavilion Roof Replacement Project and direct it toward hiring a consultant to create a sustainability and climate action plan for Appleton. They also want to take $20,006 left over from a furniture upgrade project and a fire station lighting upgrade project and put it toward new City Hall signage associated with the Fox Commons/City Center redevelopment project.

During the 03/24/2025 committee meeting, the committee recommended these items for denial, but during the Common Council meeting on 04/02/2025 they were referred back to the committee for further discussion.

The committee will also be voting on a $40,000 sole source contract with Truity Partners to provide temporary staff members to the Finance Department (which is experiencing staffing shortages) to assist with audit preparation and coverage of other duties.

Additionally, they will be voting on a $161,858.6 contract for site improvements at the Glendale Yard Waste site.
