The Transit Commission is meeting 04/23/2024 at 2:50PM.
They will be doing the housekeeping that comes with the beginning of the new Council year, including electing a chair and vice-chair and setting the meeting date and time.
Outside of the Approval of March payments, they have one action item on the agenda which is a request to award a 5-year contract with 3 1-year options to Running Inc to provide Paratransit services to Valley Transit. This is a follow-up to an item that was approved back in February. The recommendation brought to the committee was a request to approve a 3-year contract with two one-year renewal options. That item was approved by the committee and the Common Council; however, the actually request for proposals had listed the terms of the contract as a five-year contract with three one-year options, so staff is now asking for approval to amend the contract with the correct terms.
As information items, the commission will be receiving the March Finance Report, the March Ridership Report, and the 2024 1st Quarter Key Performance Indicators Report.
Ridership for March was only 59,880, down from 65,301 in 2023 and well below the 82,000 – 90,000 it was at prior to 2020.
