The Human Resources and Information Technology Committee is meeting 02/14/1014 at 4:30PM.
They have one action item on their agenda which is a request by the Police Department to create a Lead Forensic Evidence Specialist position oversee the Evidence Unit. Currently, the unit is supervised by an Investigative Services Lieutenant; however, that position has limited experience working in evidence or property room management. As a result, they would like to promote one of the Forensic Evidence Specialists to a lead position so they can provide oversight and direction to the Evidence Unit. The cost of this change, is estimated to be around $2,000 annually which could be “paid for with overtime savings due to a more efficiently operating unit and closer monitoring of overtime use.”
