The Appleton Public Arts Committee is meeting 12/06/2023 at 8:00AM.
There are no action items on the agenda but they do have several information items.
First they will be accepting the resignation of committee member Kim Kolbe Ritzow who has taken on new work responsibilities that interfere with her ability to serve on the committee. They will also be removing Claire Jamison from the committee. Since joining the committee, Ms. Jamison has not attended any meetings. She and the mayor spoke and agreed that she should resign, but then, she never actually submitted a resignation letter, resulting in the need for her to be actively removed from the committee.
In order to fill out those two vacancies, the committee will also be welcoming two new members. Laura Hoekstra holds an MA in Art History and works as a career advisor at Lawrence University. Jayne Laste is a local graphic designer who previously worked as the art director for a Milwaukee-based publishing company.
Finally, the committee will be discussing options for new pictures to be placed in the Houdini Plaza Welcome Tower.
