Board Of Education Meeting 11/13/2023 – Will Vote On Updates To Board Members Qualifications Policy

The Appleton Area School District Board of Education is meeting 11/13/2023 at 6:45PM.

The meeting will follow a Fine Arts Reception that will be held in the Board Room from 6:00-6:45 PM, featuring student artwork on display. Student artists and their families are invited to attend. The event is open to the public.

The Board will be voting on a number of items. Some items of note include…

• The 2023-24 classes approved for the Start College Now/Early College Credit Program.
• Updates to the Board Member Qualifications Policy and the Purchasing Procedures Policy. If approved, the Board Member Qualifications Policy would be updated to require candidate to have lived in the Appleton Area School District for at least 28 days prior to filing a Declaration of Candidacy (as opposed to 10 days before the date of the election) and would add a requirement that they not be convicted of a felony, unless pardoned.

The Board will also be receiving a report on the Alternative Education Curriculum.
