The Utilities Committee is meeting 10/24/2023 at 4:30PM.
They have no action items on the agenda but they will be receiving a few information items.
I would assume that the main focus of discussion will be the Utilities Department 2024 budget.
The committee will also be receiving an update on the DuPont and 3M PFAS Settlement. Per this article from Reuters, it looks like utilities may be eligible to receive settlement money to cover testing a remediation costs related to PFAS in drinking water aquifers.
Finally, they will be reviewing some 3rd quarter reports as well as the September 2023 Water Main Break report. In September, Appleton experienced 14 water main breaks as compared to 4 during September of last year; however, it has only had 58 year to date as opposed to 92 as of the end of September 2022.
