Finance Committee Meeting 09/11/2023 – Will Vote On Shared Revenue Allocation Resolution Which Calls For All Additional Shared Revenue To Go To Infrastructure, But Mayor Wants To Spend Half On Other Items

The Finance Committee is meeting 09/11/2023 at 5:30PM.

They have two action items on the agenda.

One is a request to approve a change order for a raw water line project. The contingency is being decreased, but the overall contract is remaining the same.

The other item is Resolution 10-R-23 regarding the allocation of state shared revenue aid. If passed as written, the resolution would require the full amount of nearly $2 million the city is receiving in additional shared revenue “to be used only to offset borrowing for public works and utility infrastructure (water distribution and sewer systems) and/or public safety projects.” This would be a marked change from Mayor Woodford’s stated plan which is to direct half of the funds to physical infrastructure projects and half to public safety, technology equipment, and compensation and benefits.
