The Appleton Area School District Board of Education is meeting 06/12/2023 at 6PM.
The Board will be voting on a handwriting instructional materials purchase for 1st grade as well as math standards, curriculum, and materials for Kindergarten through 12th grade.
Superintendent Greg Hartjes will also be providing an update on the naming of the new elementary school. During the 05/08/2023 Board of Education meeting, they discussed the possibility that the district may need to name the new elementary school Sandy Slope Elementary due to a condition in the purchase agreement the district signed when the purchased the land the school will be built upon. At the time of that meeting, the district had not consulted with a lawyer about the situation, so it wasn’t clear how binding the naming condition was.
The Board will also be reviewing the meeting and work session schedule for the 2023-24 school year.
