The Common Council is meeting 06/07/2023 at 7PM.
When I posted the agenda on Monday, I said the action items all looked routine and it was hard to guess which would be separated out for an individual vote. I completely overlooked the Fox Commons Development Agreement. This agreement would allow for the redevelopment of City Center into a mixed-use facility “comprised of housing, supportive services, healthcare, retail and commercial businesses uses.” It also includes $4.4 million in TIF payments from the city to the developer over a 15-year time period.
Although the Community and Economic Development Committee voted unanimously to approve the agreement, there are still major aspects of the project that are not public knowledge at this point including the identity and purpose of a non-profit organization that will be a tenant in the building and will drive down the overall final assessed value of the development.
