The Community And Economic Development Committee is meeting 01/11/2023 at 4:30PM.
They have two action items on the agenda.
The first action item is a request from Merge LLC to move the purchase date of the property on the corner of Washington Street and Appleton Street from February 16, 2023 to September 29, 2023. This is the location of the former Blue Parking ramp and is next door to Merge’s development on the site of the former Conway Hotel which they are currently turning into a 56 unit apartment building. Due to the current economic issues, they were not able to complete that project on time and would like to put off purchasing the Blue Parking Ramp lot until September in order to like up the beginning of construction on that project with the completion of construction on the current project. Staff is recommending approval of extending the purchase deadline.
The committee will also be voting on a request to approve a development agreement with Oshkosh Investment LLC and Lofgren Properties 6 LLC for the location at 200 W College Avenue which used to house Chase Bank. The developer will be leasing the first floor to Chase Bank and other commercial tenants and wants to create 24 apartments on the upper floors. Staff is recommending approval of the agreement.
Finally, the committee will be receiving an annual update on the Housing Affordability Report and the Housing Fee Report.
