Common Council Meeting 12/21/2022 – Will Vote On Resolution To Eliminate Council Parking Pass Benefit, Receive Library Project Update

The Common Council is meeting 12/21/2022 at 7PM.

There will be several items of business presented by the Mayor.

  • He will be making appointments to the Advisory Panel on Sustainability and Climate Resilience.
  • He will be making a number of appointments to other committees and boards.
  • The Council will also receive an update on the Library project
  • Of special note, Mayor Woodford will be presenting certificates of appreciation to Community and Economic Development Director Karen Harkness and Chief of Police Todd Thomas both of whom are retiring at the end of the year.

Regarding items taken up by the Council, I would expect that the Resolution to Eliminate Council Parking Passes for 2023 will be separated out for an individual vote. The Finance Committee unanimously recommended the resolution be denied, and I would expect it to be voted down at the Council level. [It would, however, be nice if the Council members who vote against it could explain what the plan is to get the city back on track in terms of replacing its infrastructure given that Appleton is currently approaching a 200-year replacement schedule which is not sustainable.]
