Transit Commission Meeting 12/13/2022 – Will Vote On Contract With Commissioning Agent To Move Whitman Avenue Facility Remodeling Project Forward

The Fox Cities Transit Commission is meeting 12/13/2022 at 3PM.

Action items include approval of a number of intermunicipal agreements for specialized transportation services for the upcoming year as well as approval of October payments, a request to approve a sole source purchase from Cellcom for an in-vehicle network system, and a request to approve a sole source contract with IMEG Corporation for professional services related to the Whitman Avenue Facility remodeling project.

As you may remember, the Whitman Avenue Facility remodeling project was put on hold back in August because the estimated cost had more than doubled due to inflation. It looks like they are now planning to move forward with the project. The memo to the commission regarding the contract with IMG states, “The Project is designed, and based on the design, and [sic] a commissioning agent is required to ensure the finished project has been built and operating within project specifications. Building commissioning is a specialized professional service and usually costs 0.5 – 1.5% of the total construction cost. We will need to enter into a contract with a commissioning agent before the remodeling project is bid out in Mid-January 2023.”

The commission will also be receiving their routine monthly reports as well as information on the offer to purchase 222 N Oneida Street which is a necessary next step in their plans to build a new and expanded transit center.
