Board Of Education Meeting 11/14/2022 – Will Vote On Early College Credit Program, Receive Resignation Of District’s Diversity, Equite, And Inclusion Officer

The Appleton Area School District Board of Education is meeting 11/14/2022 at 6:30PM.

The Board will be voting to adopt the standards and curriculum for the Culture of Health Care course. This will be replacing the People Skills for Health Professionals course that is no longer being offered.

They will also be voting on the 2022-23 2nd semester classes for the Start College Now/Early College Credit Program which allows high school students to take college level courses to gain college credits while still in high school.

They will also be receiving information on (but not voting on) proposed curriculum and materials updates to several English Language Arts classes.

Finally, there are a couple employee items of note:

1. Pa Lee Moua, AASD’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer has submitted her letter of resignation effective at the end of the week 11/18/2022.

2. Hilary Haskell, the teacher who was listed as a signer of the Zinn Education Project Pledge To Teach The Truth, is having her hours increased from 60% to 100% Full Time Equivalent.
