The Appleton Area School District Board of Education is meeting tonight, 08/08/2022, at 6PM.
The main item of interest to the public is that they will be voting on whether or not to move forward with holding a referendum in November. There will be two referendum questions. The first would be seeking approval for a one-time issuance of bonds to raise $129,800,000 in funds to pay for an elementary school and school building and facility improvements.
The second would be seeking approval for the ongoing ability to raise $5 million more per year above the revenue limit in order to fund ongoing expenses of hiring more teachers and maintaining the new building and spaces that they want to build.
The board will also be voting on some other items as well including revisions to the employee handbook.
