Soldier’s Square Resolution Referred Back To Committee

The Appleton Common Council met 05/18/2022. Most of the meeting was taken up by the Mayor’s Business, particularly an update on the Library Project. They did not even get to the action items until over an hour into the meeting. Perhaps for that reason, only one item was requested to be separated out for an individual vote. Alderperson Nate Wolff (District 12) asked to separate out the Soldier’s Square resolution which the Municipal Services Committee had unanimously recommended for denial. After Alderperson Wolff made his request, Alderperson Alex Schultz (District 9), the main author of the resolution, asked for the resolution to be referred back to the Municipal Services Committee.

As a result of the refer-back request, the Council did not deliberate on it. [And perhaps were relieved to not have to, after the meeting had already stretched on for an hour and 15 minutes.]

The Council separated out no other items and voted unanimously to approve the balance of the agenda and the committee recommendations therein.
