The Municipal Services Committee is meeting 05/09/2022 at 4:30PM.

They will be once again taking up the Soldier’s Square Resolution. This resolution was discussed extensively during the 04/25/2022 committee meeting and was held until this meeting to give staff time to provide an estimate of how much it would cost to implement a redesign of the square.

The committee will also be voting on a number of street occupancy permits including…

  • For the area around the library during the time construction is taking place
  • For Drew Street by Lawrence University to facilitate the replacement of the Lawrence University pedestrian bridge including the utilities that run along with it
  • For the College Avenue beautification street for Street Music Week June 13-21

They’ll also be considering a request from the Appleton Parade Committee for free parking on June 11 from 4:30 to 6PM.

Finally, they’ll review a couple of information items, one of which is the April 2022 Bird e-scooter report. It looks like the city received 9 complaints during the month of April regarding the scooters including 3 for riding on the College Avenue sidewalk. There was also 1 accident.
