On 03/02/2022 Appleton recorded 7 confirmed coronavirus cases and 3 probable cases. Active cases decreased by 8 to 68. Cases out of isolation increased by 17 to 21,241. Deaths remained unchanged at 81. There seems to be a reconciliation issue. The number of new active cases, cases out of isolation, and deaths should add up to the number of new cases that day, but 17 cases out of isolation minus 8 cases from the active column and 0 deaths only adds up to 9 not 10. The Health Department is not open right now, and I don’t know which of the numbers that were reported is incorrect.
Appleton’s 7-day running average of confirmed and probable cases is currently 10.57 as compared to 13.43 on this day last year. Appleton currently has 68 active cases as compared to 279 on this day last year. From March 18, 2020 (the day of Appleton’s first case) through March 02, 2021 Appleton recorded 63 deaths with/from coronavirus and had a death rate for known cases of 0.82%. That compares to 18 such deaths from during the same timeframe beginning March 18, 2021 and a death rate of only 0.14%.
