Coronavirus Numbers For 12/28/2021

On 12/28/2021 Appleton recorded 47 confirmed cases and 49 probable cases. [For what it’s worth, it’s out of the ordinary for probable cases to outnumber confirmed cases.] Active cases dropped by 19 to 218. Cases out of isolation rose by 115 to 14,332. Deaths remained unchanged at 77.

Appleton’s current 7-day running average of confirmed cases is 39 as compared to 21.43 on this day last year. Our current 7-day running average of confirmed and probable cases combined is 60.86 as compared to 27.57 on this day last year. Currently we have 218 active cases as compared to 547 on this day last year. Last year between March 18 (the day of Appleton’s first recorded case) and December 29, Appleton recorded 52 deaths with/from coronavirus as compared to only 14 such deaths during that same timeframe this year. Deaths are less than 1/3rd of what they were at this time last year.
