The Common Council is meeting 11/03/2021. They will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2022 Executive Budget at 6PM and then will hold the Council meeting proper at 7PM.
They will be voting on the 2021 ARPA allocations and associated budget amendment.
They will also be voting on a resolution that officially establishes the new ward and district lines for the city. Due to illness, I was not able to recap the last redistricting committee meeting or the Common Council meeting during which the item was approved. The Council did, however, vote to approve redistricting map E and that is now what will be established in the resolution they will vote on during the 11/03 meeting.
Although one never knows exactly what items will be pulled for separate votes, there are a few items of interest on the agenda.
The request to extend the lease for “The Collective” sculpture by 6 months will be voted on, and unless Alderperson Alex Schultz (District 9) is absent, it’s basically guaranteed to be separated out because, as the Executive Director of Sculpture Valley, Alderperson Schultz abstains on votes related to the sculptures placed by that organization. There’s also a decent amount of public interest surrounding that sculpture so I would expect it to receive an individual vote because of that as well.
I suspect that the Class A Beer and Class A Liquor License application to Tee Tees Nachos will be separated out for a vote as well. The vote by the Safety and Licensing Committee to deny the application was not unanimous, and one would hope that the applicant shows up to plead their case before the full Council.
River Tyme Bistro’s application for a permanent premise amendment to utilize 10 parking stalls as an outdoor dining area may also be separated out.
The Council will also be receiving a Covid-19 Update.
