Joint Review Board Reviews Annual Reports For TIF Districts 6 And 7 – TIF District 6 Closing Out Soon; Possible Development In The Works For TIF 7

The Joint Review Board met 10/04/2021. The one item on the agenda was to review the 2020 Annual Reports for Tax Incremental Financing Districts #6 and #7.

The reports were attached to the agenda and all the committee members had had the opportunity to review them ahead of time so there was no need to go through them in detail during the meeting. City of Appleton Finance Director Tony Saucerman did, however, touch on some of the highlights.

TIF 6 — That TIF covers the Southpoint Commerce Park. TIF 6 is coming to an end in 2023. They will make their last TIF payment in 2022 and then it will be closed out.

TIF 7 — That TIF covers the Valley Fair Mall area. He said there were not a lot of changes there, but there has been some interest on the old movie theater site and there may be a project in that location in the future, but that is still in the infant stages right now.

Other than that, he had nothing to discuss and asked if any of the committee members had any questions.

One committee member wanted to confirm that the 16.6% decrease in value shown for TIF 6 was related to the approaching close of the tif, and Director Saucerman said that was correct.

There were no further questions and the meeting adjourned.
