The Utilities Committee is meeting 05/11/2021 at 5PM.
This meeting promises to be as scintillating as utilities committee meetings typically are.
They will be voting to award a contract for sanitary and storm sewer cleaning and televising in an amount not to exceed $272,500.
They will also be voting on awarding a contract to create a lead service line replacement plan. The city has only 100 known lead service lines on the public side, but they have over 5,000 service lines on the private side that are of unknown material. New EPA rule changes are pushing for the replacement of lead service lines on both the public side and the private side. So the city has to develop a plan to determine what these 5,000 private service lines are made out of, raise money to fund their replacement, and develop a plan to replace the service lines that are determined to be lead.
