The Municipal Services Committee is meeting 05/10/2021 at 4:30 PM.
They have two action items.
1. Request for a permanent street occupancy permit for landscape islands to extend into the S. Frontage Road right-of-way no more than 27 feet at 2255 W. College Avenue.
2255 W. College Avenue is the address of the Bergstrom Dealership across the street from St Vincent DePaul. I’ve contemplated for a surprising number of minutes the graphic they submitted to the committee to illustrate what they want to do, and, in all honesty, I still have no idea what their plans are.
2. Approve E. Kimball Street and Oak Street Vacation
These streets are just south of the Downtown YMCA and this is a joint request by the YMCA and U.S. Venture for the City of Appleton to vacate those streets.
They also have several information items including
1. A modification to the Salary Administration Policy regarding assigned shift changes. They have made their policy less confusing and more in line with other municipalities.
2. They want to remove one parking ramp attendant position.
3. An update on No Mow May
4. Information on the BIRD launch
5. An Inspections Division Permit Summary for April 2021
