Appleton Redevelopement Authority Meeting 11/11/2020

The Appleton Redevelopment Authority is meeting 11/11 at 9am. On the agenda is…

The “review and approval of a Resolution authorizing the execution of an Amended and Restated Trust Indenture, Amended and Restated Loan Agreement, Amended and Restated Assignment of Mortgage, and a Remarketing Circular, each of which is to be entered into by the ARA in connection with a letter of credit substitution, tender, and remarketing of the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Appleton, Wisconsin Variable Rate Demand Redevelopment Bonds, Series 2001B (Fox Cities Performing Arts Center Project), as well as the execution and delivery of a replacement Bond.”

Clear. As. Mud. It sounds like the PAC wants to switch banks or something. Quite honestly, Appleton could pull all sorts of crazy financial shenanigans right out in the open in front of everyone and I’d have no idea. Best cross our fingers and hope for the best.

They’ll also go over the Business Enhancement Grants that support façade improvements on properties throughout the city. If you’re a business owner you might want to keep in mind that this program is out there.

There will also be an update on the city’s response to the soil contamination on the city owned property at 222 N. Oneida Street. This is the property to the north of the bus depot which used to be the Menn Law Firm building. My understanding is that at some point in that property’s odd life it was a gas station, and the soil is contaminated as a result. The good news is the city doesn’t have to do anything until it takes steps to develop a it. So, the update is that they’re not doing anything.
