Mayor Woodford made 3 proclamations which he presented to the Common Council on 11/04.
The first declared November 1-8 Appleton High Schools DECA Week and encouraged everyone to learn about DECA and support and participate in the program. I think the last thing people need to be told during a pandemic when they’re already just barely hanging on is to expend energy on Mayor Woodford’s pet interests–particularly when the schools are closed. Maybe once schools open up again their program offerings will be worth attention, until then, not so much.
The second declared November National Runaway & Homeless Youth Prevention Month in Appleton and he encourages everyone to notice the green footprints at safe support places around the community as well as to notice the role we can all play in advocating for and providing safe alternatives to these vulnerable young people. I’m sure people pondering green footprints is going to accomplish a lot of stuff.
The third declared November Home Care, Palliative Care, and Hospice Services Month and encouraged everyone to recognize those care workers and also plan for their personal future health care needs. Guess the homeless kids have to share their month.
