On 01/13/2022 Appleton recorded 341 confirmed coronavirus cases and 274 probable cases. Active cases jumped up by 378 to 635 while cases out of isolation rose by 237 to 17,483. Deaths remained unchanged at 79.
The 7-day running average of confirmed and probable cases is 269 points higher today than on this day last year. Appleton currently has 635 active cases as compared to 686 on this day last year. The number of deaths as well as the death rate remains markedly lower this year as compared to last year, in spite of the much higher case numbers. Last year between March 18 (the day of Appleton’s first recorded case) and January 13, Appleton recorded 53 deaths with/from coronavirus and with a total of 6,799 confirmed and probable cases that put our known case death rate at 0.78%. This year during that time, Appleton has had only 16 deaths with/from coronavirus and with a confirmed and probable case count of 10,012, our known case death rate during that timeframe stands at only 0.16%.
