From 10/01//2021 – 10/03/2021 Appleton recorded 79 confirmed coronavirus cases and 8 probable cases. The numbers on the dashboard, however, only reflect the one day total from yesterday. Active cases rose by 61 to 334. Cases out of isolation rose by 26 to 10,156. Deaths remained unchanged at 68.
Appleton’s current 7-day running average of confirmed cases is 21.71 and of confirmed and probable cases combined is 32.57. Both of those are lower than the 7-day running average of confirmed cases only on this day last year of 52.29. (Appleton did not start recording probable cases until 11/23/2020.) Appleton currently has 334 active cases as compared to 569 on this day last year. Last year between March 18 (the day of Appleton’s first recorded case) and October 3, Appleton recorded 9 deaths, as compared to only 5 during that same timeframe this year.
Over the course of last week, Appleton recorded a total of 152 confirmed cases and 76 probable cases. The week before that we recorded 141 confirmed cases and 89 probable cases. This makes our 2 week burden per 100,000 residents calculate out to 611 for confirmed and probable combined and 391 for confirmed cases only. Both of those fall into the “Very High” burden category.
Currently, across the entire population of Appleton residents, 0.4% of individuals are known to have a confirmed or probable case of coronavirus. Since the beginning of the pandemic 0.1% of Appleton residents of died with/from coronavirus, and 13.5% have recovered from coronavirus. After 18 months of the pandemic, 85.9% of Appleton’s residents have either not had coronavirus or have had cases that have not resulted in testing.
