It is day 3 of Arts In Education Week, as proclaimed by Mayor Woodford. Mayor Woodford has asked the public to “observe the week with appropriate activities,” and what better way to do so than to highlight some of the primo art that can be found around Appleton?
Appleton is home to multiple murals by artist Chad Brady, who also seems to go by the name Chad Ó Brádaigh on his Instagram page. He is the artist behind the mural on the side of the Taste of Thai building and also the, now covered up, mural on the wall of the History Museum At The Castle.
An oldie but a goody is the David Bowie Rock The Vote mural he painted on what is now the McFleshman’s Brewing Company building at 115 S. State Street in downtown Appleton. This was painted in the spring of 2016 on what was then an empty building. In both 2016 and in 2020 the vote seems to have indeed been rocked. Is it time to retire this mural yet?
