Coronavirus Numbers For 09/12/2021

Coronavirus numbers are now available for September 11 and 12, 2021. The numbers for 09/12/2021 appear to be artificially low which is due to a “system performance issue”. On 09/12/2021, Appleton recorded 4 confirmed coronavirus cases and 10 probable cases. Although the numbers for 09/11/2021 were not posted it is easy enough to do some basic subtraction and work out that on 09/11/2021, Appleton recorded 18 confirmed cases and 9 probable. From 09/10 to 09/12 active cases rose by 17 to 133. Cases out of isolation increased by 24 to 9,641. Deaths remained unchanged at 68.

Appleton’s current 7-day running average of confirmed and probable cases is 21 and the 7-day running average of confirmed cases only is 12.71. This compares to last year’s 7-day running average of confirmed cases only of 19.71. (Appleton did not start recording probable cases until 11/23/2020.) Appleton currently has 133 active cases as compared to 246 on this day last year. Last year between March 18 (the day of Appleton’s first recorded case) and September 12, 8 Appleton residents died with/from coronavirus as compared to only 5 during that same timeframe this year.

Over the last week Appleton recorded 89 confirmed cases and 58 probable cases. Our two week burden per 100,000 residents is 425 if probable cases are included in the calculation or 268 if only confirmed cases are used to calculate it. That means our burden is either in the “Very High” category if probable cases are included or the “High” category if only confirmed cases are used.
