Coronavirus Numbers For 08/31/2021

On 08/31/2021 Appleton recorded 17 new confirmed coronavirus cases and 16 probable cases. Active cases rose by 31 to 211. Cases out of isolation increased by 2 to 9,304. Deaths remained unchanged at 65 for the 119th day in a row.

Appleton’s current 7-day running average of new and confirmed probable cases is 26.14 as compared to 14.57 on this day last year. (Last year Appleton was only tracking confirmed cases. Our current 7 day running average of confirmed cases is 17.29 which is much closer to where it was last year.) Appleton currently has 211 active cases as compared to 206 on this day last year. Deaths are still down by quite a bit. Between March 18 (the day of Appleton’s first recorded Covid case) and August 31 of 2020, 8 residents died with/from coronavirus as compared to only 2 residents dying with/from coronavirus during that same timeframe this year.
