The Board of Zoning Appeals is meeting 06/21/2021 at 7PM.
The case before them is similar to the case last month in that it involves a homeowner who wants to erect a fence over 3 feet tall on the edge of their back yard which is considered a second front yard because their property is a double frontage property. The code issue they’re running up against is that Section 23-44(a)(1)(a) of the Zoning Ordinance limits fence height to three (3) feet in the required front yard.
This is actually the third Board of Zoning Appeals case since the November meeting that has involved this section of the Zoning Ordinance. As with the case last month, city staff is recommending denial of the variance. We’ll see if things go better for Cory and Rebecca than they did for Matt last month.
