Alderpersons Coenen and Otis Make Farewell Statements At 04/07/2021 Common Council Meeting

In addition to outgoing Alderperson Kyle Lobner giving a farewell speech, departing alderpersons Patti Coenen and Corey Otis both made farewell statements also at the 04/07/2021 Common Council meeting.

Patti Coenen: “Thank you. Just a few words. I really appreciate everyone’s help through all the years–the staff, the former mayor, the current mayor have been just phenomenal to work with and it’s been such a learning experience for me and I’ve made many friends and learned so much about government processes. More than I thought I ever needed to, but I appreciate everything that has–everyone that’s helped me, I guess, along the way, and hopefully my neighbor Kris [Alfheim] will do a really wonderful job. But thank you again. Appreciate it.”

Corey Otis: “I didn’t serve long on the Council, but I’ve always respected and admired the work of the city staff and the Council so it’s been an honor and a pleasure to work along side you over the last 18 months. I want to thank you for your leadership, your vision, and your courage, and all of your endless patience with my questions and faux pas. I want to thank Alderperson Meltzer for reminding me that we had a meeting tonight ’cause I actually thought I was done after the last meeting, so I almost missed it. So thank you, Vered. And then really quickly I just want to make a plug. Applications for the 70th Appleton Flag Day Parade are due next Thursday April 15, so please visit the visitor’s section of Appleton.org or follow the Appleton Flag Day Parade on Facebook. Thank you.”
