The Common Council is meeting 03/03/2021 at 7pm.
The big human interest story of the night is will Tyler be granted his second curb cut?
Mayor Woodford will be presenting two committee appointments. Deborah Werth will be serving on the Board of Health and Penny Bernard Schaber, one of Appleton’s former state Assembly representatives, will be serving on the Climate Change Task Force.

The mayor will also be presenting a proclamation. He has declared March “Be Active Wisconsin Month” in Appleton and encourages “all residents to participate in the Community Challenge promoted by the Parks & Recreation Department from March 1 to March 31, 2021.” You can learn more about that here.

There will be a Covid 19 update. We’re coming up on the 1 year anniversary of the Governor’s first emergency declaration.
There are multiple action items the Council will be voting on. Those items include
1. The request by Pollenablers to hold No Mow May. They had initially requested a 7 day grace period in June to give homeowners time to mow their lawns after No Mow May ends. The municipal services committee decided to recommend removing that requested grace period. We’ll see if any alderpersons try to add it back in.

2. They’ll also be voting on amending the budget to pay for the sole source procurement contract for new data management software for Valley Transit.
3. They’ll also be voting to amend the budget to pay for the resurfacing of the parking lot of Reid Golf Course.
4. And, as mentioned above, they’ll be determining the fate of Tyler’s request for a second curb cut so he can install a driveway.
