Board Of Education Meeting 04/28/2025 – Will Review ELA And Social Studies Purchases, Receive Annual Wellness Report, Vote On Move To Paid Time Off Leave Model

The Appleton Area School District Board of Education is meeting 04/28/2025 at 6PM.

As an information item they will be receiving an update on the repurposing of the Columbus Elementary school building.

They will also be reviewing materials purchases for middle and high school English Language Arts and high school Social Studies.

Additionally, they will receive the AASD Annual Wellness Report for the 2023-2024 school year.

They will be voting on the courses for the Starg College New/Early College Credit Program as well as a number of updates to various policies including the School Wellness Policy, the Medication Administration Policy, the Emergency Nursing Services Policy, the Communicable Disease Policy, and the First Aid Policy.

Finally, they will be vote on transitioning from a traditional non payable leave benefit model to a Paid Time Off model with an attendance incentive payout. The estimated cost of the change is expected to be $500,000 annually.
